WHAT IS NANO NEEDLING AND MICROBLADING?

Nano needling and Microblading are both meticulous technique whereby pigment is deposited beneath the surface of the skin to create the illusion of a single hair.

WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES?

The main difference between the two procedure is that Nano needling uses a tiny needle (0.25 diameter) with the aid of a vibrating Digital Machine to deposit pigment beneath the surface of the skin, whereas, Microblading uses a thin blade.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE IN PAIN LEVEL?

With Nano needling the feeling has been reported to being similar to threading and most have found the pain minimal and is manageable. Meanwhile with Microblading there will be feelings of small cuts and sounds of skin tears, which can be more painful.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE IN THE LONGEVITY OF BROW USING A DIGITAL MACHINE VS MICROBLADING?

When done properly, the vibrations from a digital machine can deposit ink pigments deeper into layers of the skin in comparison to Microblading (traditional method of cosmetic tattooing). With deeper pigment penetration, the tattoo fades more evenly and allows the clients to not have to fill in their brows. As a result, digital machine tattooed brows are able to last longer and require less frequent touch ups in comparison to Microblading.

Digital machine hair stroke tattoo is ideal for those who don’t retain color well e.g. oily skin, mature skin, dehydrated skin and very thin skin.

*Dry-Normal skin will always heal more crisp then other skin types*

HOW LONG WILL THE BROWS LAST?

Typically it will last between 1-3 years.  The clients skin type, age, aftercare, and lifestyle does play an important role on how quickly they fade. Annual touchups are recommended to maintain the eyebrows.

You may help extend the life of your brows by wearing sunscreen daily and avoiding physical and chemical exfoliants (ex. AHA/Retinol products).

WHAT IS THE AFTER CARE?

  • First 2 hours - any redness or irritation will decrease

  • Before bed -  clean your eyebrows with a fragrance free gentle cleanser (ex. Cetaphil) and pat dry with a clean, disposable paper towel or tissue. After this, do not get the brows wet at all for 3 days.

  • Day 1 -3 – avoid sweating and all water contact on new eyebrows

  • Day 2-3 – Brows will appear slightly darker than the first day.

  • Day 4-10 With a Q-tip, apply a paper-thin layer of the provided ointment on brows twice (morning/evening). Ointment will be provided during the winter/dry seasons. In the summer time only individuals with extremely dry skin will be provided ointment.

  • Day 5 – These are NOT the true results of the eyebrow tattoo as the pigment has not yet peeled completely. Once the skin starts healing or flaking, the colour will fade considerably as it heals beneath the skin.

  • Day 5-10 Once scabs begin to peel colour may appear very light as your skin is resurfacing, the colour will reappear slowly.

  • Day 10-14 -Eyebrows are nearly fully healed
